The Digital Associate role will be responsible for drafting and posting social media content across campaign channels. This role will be responsible for the Spanish content strategy within the digital program, adapting content to Spanish-speaking audiences online. The Associate will track internal engagement metrics across platforms and assist the Deputy with a weekly report. The Associate will also assist the Multimedia Producer with the production of visual content, such as graphics and videos. This position will report to the Deputy Digital Director. This is an entry-level role, and the starting salary for this role is $4,500/month.
The Digital Associate will work with the broader digital team to drive the Governor’s messaging across digital channels, connecting with voters directly on the issues that are most important to them.
Responsibilities and Scope
- Draft and post day-to-day social media content across campaign channels.
- Adapt digital content for Spanish-speaking audiences.
- Input social media metrics into a weekly tracking document.
- Assist with editing videos and other visual elements, such as graphics, as needed.
- Keep a pulse on the latest social media trends and bring new ideas to the table for digital content.
- Update the campaign website as needed.
- Fluency in Spanish and a solid understanding of how best to reach Spanish-speaking communities on digital platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Solid knowledge of the different social media platforms and their features — you’re always looking for the next big thing.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Campaigns are hard work. The candidate for this role must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
- Knowledge of how to craft a message for different social media platforms and audiences that encourages followers to take action.
- Familiarity with publishing social media content for a verified account or an account with a significant following.
- Basic graphic design and photo editing skills in Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and metrics reporting.
- An understanding of the New Jersey political landscape is a plus.
